2010 Dive Trip - Atlantis Puerto Galera

No trip would succeed if it weren't for the organization, knowledge, experience and charisma of the group leader. Lynn Funkhouser exceeds on all of these areas. Traveling to the Pacific area is not easy, but Lynn manages to make it smooth and reassuring. She sent us pre-trip emails with all the information we needed to pack, travel and familiarize us with the people and culture of the Philippines. Her trip brochures & emails were full of important information from her many years of travel to the area. Every detail imaginable for a dive trip were provided in advance to allow us to prepare for the trip.

Once we arrived in Manila, Lynn arranged to have us met by the Philippine Tourist Bureau with jasmine leis. They were friendly, helpful people who helped us gather luggage and zip thru immigration & customs. They also helped us exchange money, led us to ground transportation and loaded our baggage into the cab. As tired as we were, we felt great and thrilled at the service. At our first destination,the recommended Dusit Thani hotel was excellent and a perfect place to recover from jet lag. The following day, we made a trip to the "pearl market", where Lynn had recommended a dealer for our purchases; we were very pleased and enjoyed our shopping trip.

The transfer to and from the dive resort, including ground and boat travel went smoothly as planned; we didn't have to do a thing. Over the next two weeks, we found the Atlantis Dive Resort was wonderful, and the cuisine and diving excellent (!!!!). Lynn was always available for questions and information whenever we wanted. Of course, she was a part of all the activities and helped us with photography, dive equipment solutions and directions for any other needs. I can't imagine the trip without her! She even photographed us underwater and gave us a free cd with our photos. Lynn is a very generous leader and the best in the dive travel business. We look forward to traveling back to the Philippines with her next year.

2011 Dive Trip - Atlantis Dive Resort Dumaguete
Hi Lynn
We are passed jet lag finally, but the long flight didn't dampen our enthusiasm for diving in the Philippines. It was indeed our best dive trip ever.

The diving trips were so organized and the dive masters and crew made us feel very safe and in professional hands. We even met "nudis" for the first time. And we snorkled with whale sharks.

Atlantis was a first class dive resort with a great, friendly staff and a five star chef. Merlin made us special dinners and we met great guests, including a 78 yr old Korean diver & photographer.

Lynn, we are grateful to you for setting up this marvelous dive trip and seeing to it that all went well, and more than well...first class.

We would return in a heartbeat, if only the flight were shorter.
